The Possibilities of Organization
From the work of Barry Oshry
Do you ever wonder why so many things about organization life feel mixed-up and confusing?
Is it puzzling for you that the “Tops” of your organization often seem to be disconnected from the work that the “doers” of your organization are so busy with?
Are you working in a role that puts you in between the “Top” leaders and the front-line workers of your organization– leaving you pushed and pulled and “torn” and feeling ineffective?
Despite your good intentions, are the “Customers” of your organization’s products and/or services frequently dissatisfied with what is being delivered?
Welcome to the world of Organization!
This presentation was developed from the work of Barry Oshry. Barry’s life work has been to empower individuals and organizations by transforming system-blindness into system-sight. The educational programs he has developed include The Power Lab, the Organization Workshop on Creating Partnership, and the When Cultures Meet Workshop. Barry is also a prolific writer and published author of many books on system awareness.
Many years ago, I was trained to run the Organization Workshop by Barry and his wife and partner, Karen Oshry. Years after that I attended the Power Lab, a week-long simulation that cemented what I’d learned from training for the OW. What I have learned from Barry over the years has changed the way that I see everything that happens within organizations.
Join me as I shine a light from Barry’s work on seeing and understanding The Possibilities of Organization.
